Ireland centre Fergus McFadden was delighted with the cheer that greeted his arrival on the pitch during Ireland's 46-7 win over Italy on Saturday.
Of course the Kildare man was speaking with tongue firmly in cheek and spoke of his determination to help Brian O'Driscoll bow out from his Ireland career with a Championship title.
"I said to Alain Rolland when he was sending me on and I said, ‘Jesus It’ll be a nice cheer I’ll receive when I go on’," he said.
"It was great for Brian, he holds a massive place in people’s hearts as a sportsman and as an icon for the country. He’s done so much for the game.
"It was a fitting finish that he was named man-of-the-match after 60 minutes.
"It’d be nice to win some silverware, Personally as well, I haven’t won anything in an Irish jersey and lots of us haven’t."
McFadden tweeted yesterday: "That standing ovation I got coming off the bench yesterday was amazing #Thanks."
It was retweeted 9,700 times.
