Ireland captain Paul O'Connell was in top form at the annual IRUPA Awards at the Doubletree Hilton in Dublin.
While being interviewed at the event after winning the Newstalk Supporters Player of the Year award, the big Limerick man revealed that this year's Six Nations triumph was the first trophy he won while downing a pint of lager.
Ireland's 40-10 win over Scotland at Murrayfield was enough to secure a second successive Six Nations triumph but Joe Schmidt's men had an anxious wait as England defeated France 55-35 at Twickenham to fall just short of denying Ireland back-to-back crowns.
The Irish team watched the England game during their post-game dinner and O'Connell did so with a pint at his side.
