O'Shea's Italy doubt

Conor O'Shea's expected appointment as Italy coach has been thrown into doubt by the comments of Federation president Alfredo Gavazzi.
Current coach Jacques Brunel will leave his position at the end of the Six Nations and the former Ireland full-back has been widely tipped to replace him after confirming that he will leave Harlequins at the end of this season.
However, FIR chief Gavazzi was asked by newspaper 'La Repubblica' if he had met O'Shea during his visit to Dublin for Ireland's comprehensive victory over Italy, and he replied: "I didn't meet him (O'Shea) because he won't be next Italy's coach. You all will have a big surprise."
Despite the public comments, O'Shea remains the favourite to take over, but the comments may interest Munster who are currently on the lookout for a director of rugby.
Meanwhile, Connacht have landed Springbok out-half Marnitz Boshoff who will join the westerners from Super Rugby side the Lions next season on a two-year deal.
