Last week Ireland had seven representatives in The Telegraph's team of the tournament, while a Welsh player has deemed that only five of Joe Schmidt's squad deserve inclusion.

The Western Mail, or Wales Online, has chosen a team compromising of five Irish players, six from Wales, two Englishmen, with one apiece from France and Italy.

Paul O’Connell, Jonny Sexton, Conor Murray, Tommy Bowe, Peter O’Mahony are chosen, with Robbie Henshaw and Rob Kearney missing out from the Telegraph selection.

Not surprisingly Wales have the largest contingent with Jamie Roberts, George North, Gethin Jenkins, Samson Lee and Sam Warbuton included.

Cian Healy, Jamie Heaslip and Rory Best in particular can count themselves unlucky not to be included.

Here is the starting team:

15. Mike Brown (England)

14. Tommy Bowe (Ireland)

13. Wesley Fofana (France)

12. Jamie Roberts (Wales)

11. George North (Wales)

10. Jonny Sexton (Ireland)

9. Conor Murray (Ireland)

1. Gethin Jenkins (Wales)

2. Dylan Hartley (England)

3. Samson Lee (Wales)

4. Alun Wyn Jones (Wales)

5. Paul O’Connell (Ireland)

6. Peter O’Mahony (Ireland)

7. Sam Warburton (Wales)

8. Sergio Parisse (Italy)
