THE Leinster hooker Richardt Strauss will miss Ireland’s Six Nations campaign after picking up an ankle injury.

It is understood the South African-born hooker is facing up to 12 months on the sidelines with ankle ligament damage.

Meanwhile, coach Declan Kidney has called up seven more players to the Ireland training squad today.

Munster’s James Coughlan, Tommy O’Donnell, Ian Keatley, Damien Varley and Mike Sherry along with the Leinster pair of Rhys Ruddock and Kevin McLaughlin will join the training squad in Carton House this week.
