Shannon RFC had their appeal against their €25,000 fine and six-point deduction turned down by the IRFU Appeal Disciplinary panel yesterday.
The sanctions were imposed after members of the club were found to have verbally abused referee George Clancy following last month's AIL clash against Cork Constitution.
An appeal against the punishment was heard in Dublin on Wednesday and it was confirmed yesterday that the IRFU's disciplinary panel rejected it. The fine is to be paid to the IRFU Charitable Trust before March 31.
