Rogers wings it to put Belvo' into last four
Belvedere College 27 Newbridge College 10
It took two tries in three minutes at Donnybrook from wing Cian Rogers and out-half John Meagher to take Belvedere to the Leinster Junior Cup semi-final.
It looked like only a matter of time in the first quarter as Belvo' owned the ball without registering the points as Newbridge wing David Higgins intervened to prevent a score.
There was no chance of complacency creeping into it, especially when Newbridge centre Daniel O'Connor came so close to a superb individual try until bundled into touch by full-back Rory Dwyer.
The breakthrough came when O'Connor was binned for a tip tackle and Rogers was the extra man on the outside to dot down.
This was soon improved on by the support line of Meagher on the right shoulder of centre Cailean Mulvaney for the latter to make it 12-0 in the 26th minute.
It was a long way back from there for Newbridge and was made impossible by further tries by from prop Adam Maher, Mulvaney and Rogers before scrum-half Jack Doyle created the opening for David Higgins to register a long-distance try for Newbridge.
