There was huge drama, joy, and heartbreak at the end of this match at the University Of Limerick 4G pitch yesterday.

Originally fixed for Bandon, the game could not go ahead there because the pitch was unplayable but the bad luck for the Cork side did not end there.

The all-important try came midway through the first half and was scored by the Castletroy captain Ronan Keavney.

It was all square two minutes into the second half when centre Mark Fitzgerald touched down.

Neither side could manage another score and the competition rules decreed that the team to score the first try in the event of a draw is declared the winner.

It was not a great game because of the strong wind but the expressions of joy and sadness at the finish told their own story.
