Ardscoil Ris got the better of a plucky St Clement's to qualify for the quarter-final of the Munster Schools Junior Cup.
In a game switched from Thomond Park to the 4G pitch at UL, Ardscoil survived against a Clement's team who were drubbed by PBC in the previous round but showed great composure on this occasion.
Indeed St Clement's led 7-0 at half-time thanks to a try by centre Alex Marshall which Alan Kiely converted.
An upset seemed likely at that stage but a penalty by Adam McNamara and a try by Stephen Cleary, converted by Gerard Higgins, had Ardscoil in front. Clement's refused to lie down and were back in front when Adam Kiely had a try but Ardscoil finished the stronger with a penalty by Gerard Higgins and a try by Jack Ward-Murphy.
