Saxons nod for Farrell

Former dual-code international Andy Farrell has been named as one of two new England Saxons assistant coaches for the forthcoming internationals against Ireland 'A' and Italy 'A'.

Saracens coach Farrell, who represented England in the 2007 World Cup after switching from league to union, will be joined in the post by national academy coach Simon Hardy, who was part of the 2003 World Cup-winning squad's backroom team.

Saxons head coach Stuart Lancaster said: "Simon and Andy will ensure we have a very strong coaching team in place as we plan for two very tough matches."

Farrell added: "It will be great to be involved with England again and I'm looking forward to working with Stuart, Simon and the squad when we meet up in the week building up to the Ireland game."
