Munster Schools Snr Cup Centre Pa Ryan scored a dramatic try four minutes into stoppage-time to give Ard Scoil Ris a narrow win at Clifford Park.
Referee Joy Neville issued three yellow cards in what was a very keenly contest affair with a player from each side going to the bin following a dust-up just before the break.
St Munchin's led after eight minutes when Jason Kiely's penalty sneaked over off the upright but Ard Scoil levelled two minutes later thanks to Conor Fitzgerald's penalty. Ard Scoil then gained the upper hand with prop Evan Cusack rounding off a slick move with a try in the corner.
Two huge Kiely penalties put St Munchin's 9-8 ahead before the two kickers swapped penalties just before the break. The second half was a disjointed affair and Kiely landed his fifth penalty five minutes in.
Ard Scoil squandered a great try chance in the left corner with a knock-on at the line but they got their stoppage-time reprieve when St Munchin's were penalised in a scrum. Scrum-half Craig Casey took a quick tap and sent Ryan over in the right hand corner to earn the win.
