Last season saw Connacht lead Irish rugby in terms of attacking intent but they were also ahead of the curve in another aspect of the sport - their choice of jersey.

Fittingly, when the men from the west secured their first win at Thomond Park in 29 years they were dressed as superheroes, with BLK producing a special Green Lantern jersey for the occasion.

Perhaps that is why Bundee Aki was able to soar in the air long enough to touch down in the corner to cap a sensational win.

That victory propelled Connacht to Pro12 glory and although we are a few months away from the return of club rugby, we've still been thrown a few crumbs to sustain us while we wait.

Last week saw the announcement of the Pro12 fixtures - with Connacht clashing with Glasgow on the opening weekend - while today saw the reigning champions unveil their new home jersey.

We'll admit that we were a little disappointed not to see the superhero twist become a permanent addition, but Connacht fans are sure to enjoy their team's new strip regardless.
