Teams from Rathoe, Carrigduff, Rathcoyle and Shillelagh primary schools gathered at Tullow Rugby Club earlier this week to participate in one of their many blitz competitions.

Over 80 pupils came together to play a sport that they all share an interest in. The pupils were filled with excitement to play on an actual rugby pitch instead of their playground green area where their usual Play Rugby programme is carried out.

This activity will encourage the pupils to keep active and also encourage the pupils to play for Tullow Rugby Club if they wish to play rugby outside of school.

Regardless of the results, the pupils enjoyed their day at Tullow RFC, with the hope that this will encourage more outings to the club for rugby training and games.

Everyone involved would like to thank the referees, teachers and principals for their help and participation on the day and throughout this programme and also to thank Tullow RFC for the fantastic facilities that were provided on the day.

If any other school in the Tullow area would like to participate in similar programmes, please contact Larry Canavan on 087-6737752 or email on TullowCCRO@leinsterrugby.ie.
