Andrew's to honour three famous sons

On Friday week, February 5 (the weekend of the Ireland v Wales game), St Andrew's College will host a luncheon in Wanderers Rugby Club on the Merrion Road.

Some 14 ex-Andrew's boys represented Ireland pre-war with two more going on to represent England and one lining out for the Scots. This luncheon is to honour three more recent former pupils who have played for Ireland:

Ronnie Dawson, British and Irish Lions (captain), Ireland, Leinster, the Barbarians and Wanderers FC (27 caps between 1958 and 1964).

Michael Gibson, Ireland, the Barbarians, Leinster, Lansdowne, Cork Con and London Irish (11 caps between 1979 and 1988).

Felix Jones, Ireland, Munster, Seapoint and Old Belvedere (15 caps between 2011 and 2015).

Peter O'Reilly will conduct an informal interview with three of the Booterstown school's most famous sons.
