Osbourne seals fightback

Peter Osbourne slotted the winning penalty as Newbridge fought back to claim the Leinster Schools Senior Plate for the first time since 1986 at Barnhall RFC yesterday.

Hospital were without injured Ireland U-18 prop Des Merrey but they surged into a 10-0 lead, courtesy of a try from captain Tom Satchwell and the expert kicking of second-row Josh Hinde.

However, scrum-half Osbourne pulled back a penalty and Ireland U-18 centre Sam Coghlan-Murray knifed through for the crucial try in the 56th minute, converted by Osbourne. Osbourne then sealed the title with one of two penalty chances in the last quarter.
