New date for Connacht

Connacht will play competitive rugby on St Patrick's Day for the first time when they host Newport Gwent Dragons in a re-arranged Magners League tie at the Sportsground.

The game was postponed on January 8 because of frost in Galway but will now take place on St Patrick's Day, kicking off at 6.30pm.

Connacht CEO Gerry Kelly confirmed the fixture yesterday and said that discussions were continuing with Leinster with a view towards re-arranging their Magners League clash which also fell victim to the weather at the Sportsground on January 2.
