Murphy denies Munchin's

St Munchin's -- complete with the Ryan triplets -- dug deep to hold favourites PBC to a draw at Clifford Park yesterday semi-final.
A draw was a fair result, but the fixing of the replay will pose problems for both sides as this was a very hard-fought contest from which both sides will take a few days to recover.
Both teams made one significant three-quarter move and in each instance it led to a try in the corner, both being superbly converted.
PBC led four minutes into the second half when Sean Og Murphy was on target from the 22 after a St Munchin's player was sinbinned for an off-the-ball tackle. Just as the seven and a half minutes in the bin ended, St Munchin's drew level when full-back Brian Mullins kicked a penalty.
After 54 minutes, St Munchin's went in front after Lucas Kuntz took off from inside his own half and sped past two defenders before managing a back-hand flick to winger Conor Cunnane, who got in at the corner. Mullins landed the touchline conversion superbly.
PBC let the ball out to their three-quarters after 25 minutes and full-back Seamus Glynn got in at the corner. Murphy added the points to force a deserved replay.
