GREYSTONES' defeat of DLSP on Friday night allowed unbeaten Old Wesley to go level at the top of a tight Division 2A table thanks to Richie Murphy crossing twice in a bonus-point 33-18 win over Instonians.

De La Salle's points difference keeps them on top of the three other teams on 14 points, with Wesley ahead of Queens, who lost 22-18 to Bective, and Corinthians, who were defeated 9-6 at home to Trinity, the students moving into fifth, a point behind the top four.

Old Crescent slipped up on a day of surprises with Seapoint leaving Limerick with a 25-23 win, while Malone lost 16-15 at Terenure.

Bottom side Clonakilty remain winless after a 24-21 home defeat to Thomond, while Midleton beat City of Derry for their first win of the season.

Rainey lead the way in Divison 2B after a five-try 36-9 win over Sunday's Well, while Cashel are loving life in senior rugby after their 21-3 win in Naas. Their Tippeary rivals Nenagh Ormond are third, with Conor Brislane scoring two tries in a 40-15 rout of Connemara and Banbridge's 25-6 win over Highfield in Cork leaves them fourth.

Elsewhere, Armagh beat Sligo 20-14, Barnhall crushed bottom side Ards 29-3 and Wanderers' miserable start to the season continued with a 10-5 loss to Suttonians on Friday.
