The Wexford native may be called into Rassie Erasmus' matchday 23 for the visit of Zebre this Saturday.
The South African has been explaining why he is happy to allow players, who are not in the 23 for a weekend game, to play at club level.
"That’s the plan, anybody outside the match 23 and who isn’t bracketed among the injured and never gets game time, I think it worked out for Robin and others as well. There will be one or two more this weekend, guys who aren’t injured or in the 23," he said.
"It looks like competition at club level is of a decent standard so it was wonderful for them to get that intensity of match fitness and obviously the attitude he went back was excellent.
"I don’t know what the past agreement was but my way of doing it will be that a guy not in the 23 should go and play for his club. John Andress also played for his club Shannon although Stephen Fitzgerald and DJ (David Johnston) and a few guys got injured so on the one hand it’s great and on the other not so great with injuries. But it’s better than training so it’s fine."
