The Future is Bright: Sean McCarthy (Third year academy)

I'm from Currow village in Co Kerry and I started playing rugby in nearby Castleisland RFC when I was eight years old.
Having played rugby at home for a few years, I moved to Rockwell College when I was 17, where I was lucky to pick up two Schools Senior Cup medals, captaining the winning side in 2012. I moved on to the sub-academy which I completed for a year before being offered an academy contract at the start of the 2013/'14 season. I have represented Ireland at all age-grade levels, playing for the U-20s in the Junior World Championship in France in 2013. Now in my final year of the academy programme, I recently signed a one-year development contract for 2016/'17.
Favourite Munster game: Munster v All Blacks in Thomond Park in 2008 due to the incredible atmosphere and being in the stadium with my mother and sister two hours before the game to get a good place in the terrace.
Most memorable game I have played in: Playing for Munster in the pre-season game against Gloucester in Kingsholm in 2014 was great and more recently I was delighted to make my Pro12 debut when coming on against Cardiff at the Arms Park.
Favourite ground: Nothing beats Thomond Park.
