Squad depth is clear from B&I Cup run
For a very long time now Leinster have been the standard-bearers when it came to their A side, and the strength in depth that they have in their youth structures.
Their underage system is fantastic, of course, and their schools provide a vast array of underage prodigies that go on to feature for the first team.
However, in recent years Munster have begun to catch up, and they could finally get the reward once again, when they face Jersey Reds in the final of the B&I Cup at Irish Independent Park tonight.
Munster have watched on in envy as people lavished praise on the Leinster academy system, but now they have a team in a home Champions Cup semi-final, potentially a home Guinness PRO12 last four clash, and they still have the numbers to field a very strong side in the B&I Cup final this evening.
It would be massive for everyone within the organisation to win this trophy considering what lies ahead in the coming weeks.
There is every chance that some of the Munster players from this fixture will be called upon before the end of the season.
Winning the B&I Cup would give confidence to those performing for the perceived second string and they deserve it.
