Sky Sports aired the 2006 Heineken Cup final in tribute to Anthony Foley and the response was huge

While Liverpool and Manchester United played out a drab 0-0 draw in Anfield on Sky Sports One last night, rugby fans were treated to a fitting tribute to Anthony Foley over on Sky Sports 5.

The channel aired the 2006 Heineken Cup final between Munster and Biarritz. Anthony Foley was captain on the day, and played a massive role in the province's first European triumph.

It was a day of glory for Munster in Cardiff, and the decision to show the match as a tribute to Foley sparked an emotional response on Twitter.

Munster won 23-19 on the day, and were welcomed back to Limerick as heroes.
