There is no arguing the challenge that faces Munster in their Champions Cup pool, with French champions Racing 92, 2015 Pro12 winners Glasgow Warriors and two-time Heineken Cup winners Leicester Tigers providing stiff opposition.

First up for Munster will a trip to Ronan O'Gara's Racing 92, who have already shown some good form in their two Top14 games so far.

They fell to a shock defeat in the opening round to Ian Madigan's Bordeaux Begles, but recovered well to beat Lyon 29-16 last weekend. This Sunday will be a real test of their credentials when they face the unbeaten Toulouse.

Glasgow Warriors face a repeat of their Pro12 semi-final this weekend when they travel to he Sportsground to meet champions Connacht. After consecutive defeats to Pat Lam's side at the business end of last season put paid to their title hopes, Gregor Townsend's troops will be eager to get off to a winning start.

Warriors lost out to Gloucester in their first pre-season outing, but registered a convincing win over Canada A earlier this week to wrap up their preparations.

Elsewhere, English Premiership side Leicester Tigers will make the same trip to Kingshom to clash with Laurie Fisher's Gloucester. Leicester will be Munster's opponents in rounds three and four in December.

In pre-season Tigers have won and lost against Ospreys, while they also defeated Treviso at Welford Road.
