Travelling to Tipperary and back, the each-way distance of 125km tied in nicely with the club's 125th anniversary celebrations, with each cyclist taking it upon themselves to raise funds prior to taking part.

Over the course of two days cyclists of all levels enjoyed the summer sun as they made their way to Limerick Junction, where they overnighted before starting the long journey back the following morning, taking in the old Dublin road and Cahir.

Those involved recently had the pleasure of handing over the funds raised, which totalled €6,500.

Club president Eddie McCarthy thanked all involved for organising and supporting the event before accepting the cheque on behalf of Cobh Pirates' juvenile sections.

A presentation was also made to Bernard Hughes of Epilepsy Ireland who acknowledged the efforts of Cobh Pirates.
