Rapport newspaper is reporting that Rassie Erasmus will bring in Taute on a five-month contract. Munster need cover at centre after Francis Saili was ruled out for at least three months with a shoulder injury.

Taute has extensive Super Rugby experience with The Stormers and has won three international caps with South Africa.

He can play at both fullback and centre.

Munster start their season away to the Scarlets on Saturday September 3.
