Munster Rugby has confirmed a new exclusive kit agreement means it cannot directly supply jerseys to independent sports outlets from next summer.

The province confirmed a five-year extension to its kit deal with Adidas, and a new exclusive agreement with Lifestyle Sports.

Munster chief executive Garrett Fitzgerald said it had entered into an exclusive retail agreement with Lifestyle Sports for the start of the 2016/2017 season.

Under the deal, Munster won't supply kits to independent retail outlets. To secure branded kit, independent outlets must now reach an agreement with Lifestyle Sports.

Several independent sports outlets in Cork and Limerick said they would no longer be able to stock official kit. Limerick sports shop Gleeson Sports Scene took to social media to say that, as they understand it, they won't be able to sell official kit from next summer, with Lifestyle Sports the sole stockists.
