Ireland name 11 Reds stars in squad for autumn Tests

New Ireland head coach Joe Schmidt has selected 11 Munster players in his first squad as he prepares for the November internationals.

Schmidt (right) has named a 42-man party which will assemble at Carton House on Sunday for training.

Eight Munster forwards and three backs have been selected in the squad which will start preparations for the November games against Samoa, Australia and New Zealand.

Two more Munster players, Tommy O'Donnell and Felix Jones, are listed among a number of injured players who were not considered but who may come back into contention when they return to action.

The Munster players selected in the Ireland squad are: Stephen Archer (Cork Constitution), James Coughlan (Dolphin), Keith Earls (Young Munster), David Kilcoyne (UL Bohemian), Conor Murray (Garryowen), Donncha O'Callaghan (Cork Constitution), Paul O'Connell (Young Munster), Peter O'Mahony (Cork Constitution), Donnacha Ryan (Shannon), Mike Sherry (Garryowen), Simon Zebo (Cork Constitution).
