The Irish Heart Foundation is one of Munster's nominated charities; it fights against Ireland's leading killers - heart disease and stroke.

Heart disease and stroke are responsible for at least one death every hour, with on average 27 lives lost each day.

The event taking place this weekend is also supported by 2FM's Ryan Tubridy, Nicky Byrne and Fair City actress Leah Egan and will see thousands of volunteers taking to the streets and shopping centres selling the happy heart badges.

The donations make a real difference through funding care, prevention and research that will aid those and the families of those affected by the disease.

Shaws and Supervalu are two of the stores involved in the fundraising and the happy heart badges. You can also text Happy to 50300 if you want to contribute €4 to the cause.

Munster Rugby is proud of its work in the community and they support of vast array of national and international charities.

Munster's most capped player Donncha O'Callaghan recently travelled to Lebanon to do work with UNICEF over there.

Meanwhile, Munster have been a driving force behind many different charities over the past couple of months including Anti-Suicide initiatives, Daffodil Day, Cliona's Foundation, Clare's Wish Foundation, Limerick's Good Friday Clean-Up and Cork Autism.
