Foley bats away 'director of rugby' talk

Munster coach Anthony Foley batted away all talk of a director of rugby being appointed next season and said that nothing had been sorted out yet about his own position.
But with talks having taken place yesterday morning with chief executive Garrett Fitzgerald, it is expected that Foley's one-year contract extension will be announced soon.
And with Paul O'Connell present in the pavilion for a time during training yesterday and Denis Leamy in full Munster gear on the sideline in addition to the other Heineken Cup winners such as Jerry Flannery and Mick O'Driscoll who are already on board, the camp had a feel of old Munster to it as they bid to revive their season.
Foley said that despite talks with Fitzgerald, nothing has been decided on his future, and he did not discuss the possibility of a director of rugby.
"That's a question you need to bring up with Garrett," he said.
Elsewhere, Connacht have been dealt a massive blow, with back-row Eoghan Masterson ruled out for the rest of the campaign with a knee injury sustained in Parma at the weekend.
