This year the awards take place in the Clayton Hotel Silver Springs in Cork, with 11 different categories being acknowledged on the night, from a diverse range of Munster professional and amateur rugby.

The three nominees for the player of the season are Billy Holland, Rory Scannell and CJ Stander - the players have voted them to be nominees but it is the public who make the final decision.

Previous winners of the player of the season include James Coughlan, John Hayes, Mick O'Driscoll, Ronan O'Gara, Donnacha Ryan, Tommy O'Donnell and Conor Murray.

Last season, No 8 Stander became the first overseas player to take the prize, and he will look to double up on his tally after another fantastic season.

Greencore Academy star Scannell continues to go from strength to strength in the Munster midfield alongside Francis Saili. He will look to take the senior and academy prizes.

Meanwhile, stalwart lock Holland is in contention for the second season in a row. He has been one of the mainstays of the Munster team this season, and has become a real leader.

The John McCarthy Award for the academy player of the season has three nominees, with David Johnston, Scannell and Sean McCarthy in contention, as the Munster Greencore Academy continues to produce the talent for the first-team squad.
