Don't miss Mini coaching courses
The Munster Rugby Development Department will be hosting Mini Coaching Courses in Cork and Limerick in the coming weeks.
The Cork course will be held at Coláiste Stiofáin Naofa next Friday, September 16, and Saturday, September 17 (Please note: only six places remain).
The Limerick course is on Friday, September 23, and Saturday, September 24, with a small number of places remaining.
The two-day courses are specifically designed for coaches of mini rugby (6-12yrs) where players are being introduced to rugby for the first time and participating in games of reduced numbers (8-, 10- and 12-a- side).
The focus is on safety and enjoyment with the coach acting as guide in a player-centred process. Developing players' all-round skills and game-understanding with an emphasis on physical literacy appropriate to the stages of development of each individual are the key technical, tactical and physical module objectives.
The course costs €65.

The call is open to both male and females who would like to take the general refereeing path or those who wish to support clubs at a local level through community refereeing.

Fitzgibbon recently hosted three Laws Workshops in Limerick, Cork and Kerry, where he presented to coaches on law application guidelines surrounding ruck, scrum and other areas of focus this season.
He also spoke on various other law amendments and the IRFU guidelines on foul play in domestic rugby.
One further workshop is scheduled to take place this Monday in Clonmel RFC.

Following on from the success of the Concussion Workshops in February, Munster Rugby, in conjunction with the IRFU, will continue to host similar events commencing this month.

The presentation will focus on modules that relate to Concussion Recognition Management and Return to Play protocols followed by a Question and Answer session.
The workshops are designed to educate coaches, parents, players and referees on the dangers of concussion and how to recognise it.
All club and school coaches are encouraged to attend the workshops, which are free of charge.
Please note places are limited and will be filled on a first come first served basis.
