THE draw for the quarter-finals of the SEAT Munster Schools Senior Cup has taken place after the Round 1 fixtures were completed last week.

Castletroy College are set to host Glenstal Abbey on Tuesday. The game takes place two weeks after Castletroy secured home advantage with a gritty 20-13 win against last year's beaten finalists Rockwell College at Clanwilliam.

The sides were level early in the second half, but Castletroy took advantage of a Rockwell sending-off to score a late breakaway try through John Fox. Conor Linehan converted as the Limerick side booked a home quarter-final. Glenstal Abbey have to travel for the quarter-finals after their narrow 17-13 loss to Ardscoil Rís.

That hard-fought win for Ardscoil Rís, a game they trailed for much of the first half before a try from captain Stephen Fitzgerald early in the second half won the game, means they host CBC on Wednesday.

CBC are on the road to Limerick after they were beaten 39-0 by current holders Crescent College in the most one-sided tie of the first round.

Crescent were 17 points to the good at the break and scored six tries with Robbie Scott dotting down twice and Cormac Blake, Will Leonard, Jason O'Sullivan and Johnny Keane completing the rout. That win sets Crescent up for a home quarter-final against PBC, also on Wednesday.

PBC drew 8-8 with St Munchin's at Musgrave Park in the first round but Munchin's earned a home quarter-final as they scored the game's first try.

Munchin's host Rockwell on Thursday, with the Tipperary school looking to make amends after that narrow defeat to Castletroy in Round 1.

Senior Cup Quarter-final draw
