Crescent ended three successive defeats in The Claytons Hotel Munster Schools Junior Cup final last Wednesday when they overcame the holders, Christian Brothers College in the replay at Thomond Park Stadium.
The Cork side were denied a trophy double having won the Senior Cup title last March as Crescent claimed their seventh title since the cup's inception in 1932. Crescent made the better start and jumped into the lead with a try from Jack Madden in the corner for a 5-0 advantage after four minutes.
Christians winger Karl Waterman got over the Crescent line but was held up; however from the resulting scrum, No 8 Conor O'Sullivan got in for a try which Billy Cain converted to leave CBC 7-5 ahead, a lead they held to half-time.
In the second half Crescent captain John Hurley was off target with a penalty but their efforts were rewarded in the 48th minute when prop Ronan Gallery touched down and Hurley converted to make it 12-7.
Ben Carew, who earned Crescent the replay the last day, made sure of victory with an injury-time try to give Crescent their seventh title.
This was Crescent's sixth Junior Cup final appearance in seven seasons having last claimed the trophy in 2011.
