The last term of the school year was capped off in style in Portarlington with a big tag blitz. More than 200 pupils from four schools attended, played great rugby and made new friends.

In the morning, Portarlington RFC hosted students from Kildangan NS and Cloneygowan NS. Twelve mixed teams were selected to ensure everyone had fun and made new friends. The same concept was used in the afternoon with two girls schools from Monasterevin and Mountmellick. Mixing pupils from different schools was a huge success as many exchanged contacts so they could stay in touch.

The organisation of a 24-team blitz would be impossible without the assistance of Portarlington RFC minis coaches, TY students from St Paul's, Monasterevin and teachers and principals from four schools.

Portarlington CCRO Alex Mihajlovic used the opportunity to thank everyone for their help throughout the year and wished them a sunny summer break, saying that he is looking forward to seeing them all next year.
