Master Brewer the toast of Terenure

Terenure lived up to their billing as favourites with another competent performance as they eased into the semi-finals at Donnybrook yesterday.
Gonzaga pushed them all the way but at no stage was 'Nure's supremacy really threatened, even though they never hit top gear.
In converted centre Harrison Brewer, 'Nure possess an individual over and above the ordinary. Brewer was central to almost everything constructive they did.
Anyone expecting a battering ram in midfield, given his Jamie Roberts-like physique, is in for a rude awakening as the former No 8 is gifted with a magical side-step and swerve as well as the most clinical timing and execution in the pass.
But this was very far from a one-man show -- the spine of the side, from Daniel Hynes through Mike Murphy and Niall Lalor to Stephen O'Neill and Billy Dardis, is immensely strong.
It took Terenure just two minutes to open the scoring when a scintillating move involving Lalor and Dardis ended with Hynes touching down.
Gonzaga reacted forcefully and reduced the arrears with a penalty from Conor McKeon.
Terenure dominated the rest of the first half but had only an O'Neill penalty to show for it at the break.
The defining moment came on 50 minutes when Brewer produced a sublime pass to take out the covering defenders and set Dardis free on a 50-metre run for a try. O'Neill converted and the contest was effectively over.
Dardis made a try-saving tackle to deny Andy Marks as spirited Gonzaga tried to find a way back.
Centre Colin Jones put the seal on the victory with a third Terenure try after flanker Patrick Thornton blocked down a clearance.
O'Neill again converted before Dermot Lavelle crossed for a consolation try for Gonzaga.
