D'Arcy admits frustration at IRFU-enforced inactivity

Thursday September 09 2010

RUGBY: Gordon D'Arcy has admitted his frustration with the IRFU policy that has prevented him from starting his season, WRITES RUAIDHRI O'CONNOR.

The Ireland centre will not feature for Leinster against the Cardiff Blues at the RDS on Saturday as the Ireland management keep the powder dry on their big guns ahead of next year's World Cup.

Despite being ready and willing to play, D'Arcy must wait a week to kick off his campaign against Benetton Treviso.

"Not playing this week is a real disappointment," he said at the Pace Yourself training day at the RDS.

"It's hard, because if anyone knows how my body is, I do. I know I play better with the amount of games I play. I'm not overly mad on training. I've done my pre-season now, I'd just love to be playing.

"It's a bit frustrating, but I know I'll be involved for next week."
