The sun shone on a beautiful Sunday as Westmanstown RFC drew a close to the season last weekend.

The youth section of the West Dublin club may still be very young but it doesn't lack vibrancy.

Two pitches were full of boys and girls from under six up to U-18, all determined to fit one last hour of rugby in before the summer break.

The theme was 'Bring a Buddy' so there were plenty of new faces also and each of them seemed to really enjoy trying out the sport.

One face that was very recognisable, though was Sophie Spence, Irish international and World Player of the Year nominee, who was on hand to hand out some medals and awards.

Rugby is taking its summer break now but Westmanstown is always on the lookout for new players, there are teams from under six and up as well as a very strong girls section being the only club in Dublin that fields girls teams at U-10, U-12, U-15 and U-18.

If the summer is too long to wait there is a Leinster Rugby Summer Camp at the club on August 8 as well as the upcoming Summer Teen Tag.

So find us on Facebook or on Westmanstownrfc.com for more information.
