Congratulations to Skerries U-17s who for the second year in a row completed a Leinster League and Cup double by beating a strong Navan side by 30-22 in Athy on Saturday in the Culliton Cup final.

They had already secured the league title on April 10 in Donnybrook by beating Mullingar 46-21 in a hard-fought contest.

Skerries RFC puts huge emphasis and effort into its underage rugby and this fine youths side is another product of the club's strong and long-established mini and youths structures.

Many of these U-17s have been together from the age of six or seven and the club looks forward to these players coming through at adult level.

Skerries also enjoyed further recent success when their U-18s won the Leinster League Premier title when beating Carlow in Donnybrook.

All credit to the players and coaches on this fine achievement, one that will bring great joy and pride to the seaside club.
