Schoolgirls make Mary's Sevens blitz a great success

Over 150 girls took part recently in a very impressive Sevens blitz in St Mary's College RFC. Running rugby was the order of the day in the glorious Indian summer sunshine.

Over 150 girls took part recently in a very impressive Sevens blitz in St Mary's College RFC. Running rugby was the order of the day in the glorious Indian summer sunshine.

The standard displayed was of the highest order, with all of the girls who took part showing some excellent skills.

Their coaches have undoubtedly spend countless hours with these teams and this blitz showed the fruits of their labour.

Sacred Heart Tullamore, St Kevin's Dunlavin, Firhouse Community College, St Mac Dara's Community School, Loreto Bray, Pipers Hill and Tullow Community School all competed on the day, fielding both junior and senior girls.

St Mary's were fantastic hosts with their very professional youth coordinator Aidan Manahan on hand for the whole day.

St Mary's currently field at U-15s and U-18s.
