It's rugby season again and with the World Cup well and truly underway, it's time for the ladies of Mullingar to come and see what is happening in our club.

In only a few years the Women's World Cup is set to be played in Ireland so there is no better time to get yourself down to Cullion and give rugby a try.

This season is going to be better than ever due to our new synthetic pitch, which means we can train no matter the weather.

Our ladies teams have been going from strength to strength over the past few years, with last season being our most successful campaign yet.

Following their league and cup wins our senior ladies have been promoted to the AIL league this season.

One of the ladies, Clodagh Cleary, will swap jerseys for part of the season to play for Connacht.

Our U-18s had a great season last year, making the semi-final of the Leinster league.

Three of the U-18s - Katie Heffernan, Jane Leahy and Eadaoin Liddy have been selected for the Midlands squad.

Jane and Katie then went on to be picked for the Leinster U-18s squad, making their club and coaches extremely proud.

Our club superstar Katie also got her first cap for Ireland by playing on the U-18s Sevens squad in Belgium - not only did Katie play all the matches in the World Cup Blitz but she was one of the top try-scorers.

Katie is one to watch out for in the future.

The U-15s girls won the Leinster League in 2014 and also made it to the semi-final of the Leinster Cup last year.

They are a squad to be watched this season growing in numbers and with the confidence of lifelong friendships being formed.

We are always accepting new members down at Mullingar so why not come down and give it a try, we promise you won't be disappointed.

Who knows, maybe you could be stepping out with the Irish Ladies team one day or heading off to the Olympics with the Sevens squad.

The senior ladies train Wednesday and Friday at 7.30-9.0. U-18s girls train Wednesday and Friday from 7.0-8.0.

U-15s girls train Monday and Wednesday from 7:00 to 8:00.

U-12s train Saturday mornings from 10-11.0.

So pop in and say hello! Or for further information call Pauline - 087 0972634.
