Since the start of the season the Leinster Academy has provided unique and exclusive behind the scenes access to Leinster TV, and the first episode in a four-part documentary series called The Academy will be available on Wednesday, February 10 through leinsterrugby.ie.
Recorded by the Videos on the Net team who produce all the Leinster Rugby and IRFU video content, the Leinster TV crew had access to pre-season and mid-season pitch sessions, gym sessions and team meetings as three Academy players and one senior player were followed over the course of a few months.
The players in question - Tom Daly, Peter Dooley, Adam Byrne (all current Academy players) and Josh van der Flier (a member of last year's Academy squad) all live together and they also offered Leinster TV access to their lives at home, in college in UCD and of course in and around the Leinster team environment as they prepared for AIL games, Ireland 7s games, B&I Cup games with the Leinster As, or Guinness Pro12 and Champions Cup games with the Leinster senior.
The first episode features Dooley, who talks about his journey from hurling in Birr to lining out and making his first start for Leinster in the recent Champions Cup game against Bath.
There is also a starring role for Chopper, the new Labrador pup that the four lads have taken in, named after Van der Flier!
The first episode of The Academy featuring Peter Dooley will be available to watch on leinsterrugby.ie on Wednesday, February 10 with the final episode featuring Josh van der Flier available to watch on Wednesday, March 2.
