Leinster lock Hayden Triggs has been given a three week ban following an incident with Montpellier scrum-half Nic White during last Friday night's Champions Cup clash.

The Kiwi plead guilty to making contact with the eye area and was given the sentence by an independent disciplinary committee. Francois Steyn was handed a four week ban for his high tackle on Johnny Sexton in the same game.

Triggs' ban means that he will miss Leinster's Champions Cup pool finale away to Castres, but he will be available for the following game, a Pro12 clash away to Treviso.
