Leinster prop Marty Moore is expected to be sidelined for up to six weeks after undergoing surgery on a foot injury.
The Kildare native is understood to have suffered a suspected stress fracture and will miss the early stages of the provinces Pro12 campaign.
The niggling injury has hindered Moore since the start of the season and resulted in team mate Tadhg Furlong making Joe Schmidt's 31-man Rugby World Cup squad ahead of him.
