Three fifth classes and three sixth classes from Ladyswell National School recently travelled the short distance to join the Fingal Leinster coaches for some tag rugby in Coolmine RFC.

This was the first time any of the students had been at a tag blitz but the way they acted it seemed they were professional players taking the pitch.

To heighten the excitement even further one pitch was fifth class teams versus sixth class teams.

The students were delighted to be able to play against a different class with friendships being made.

Some of the sixth class students mentioned to the coaches that they were going to secondary schools that the Leinster programme runs in for first and second year students, with big smiles leaving knowing they would be learning more the following years while hopefully joining Coolmine RFC to try contact rugby.

If anyone is interested in getting involved in rugby from the Castleknock/Coolmine area please contact Jonathan Sharkey at CoolmineCCRO@leinsterrugby.ie or on 0876401795.
