Johnny Sexton could make his eagerly awaited return to the playing field this Friday for Leinster against the Ospreys.
The Irish outhalf is back training with the province after a shoulder surgery he sustained while playing for Leinster against Connacht in the Pro12 last season.
“Johnny Sexton returns to training this week and will be assessed later in the week for Ospreys,” read a statement from Leinster rugby.
The news is not so good for Rob Kearney, however. The winger is still suffering from a knee injury and "will miss the next few rounds of the Pro12".
Fergus McFadden, who missed the opening round victory over Edinburgh, is back training and will be assessed later in the week as will Rhys Ruddock.
