Leinster supporters honoured the Senior Women's squad last Friday at the RDS after they reclaimed the Interprovincial Championship in December.

The squad, which was captained by Blackrock RFC's Carmela Morey, featured 35 players from 11 clubs throughout the province including Blackrock, Railway Union, Old Belvedere, Gorey, Kilkenny, Navan, Suttonians, St Mary's, CYM, Edenderry and MU Barnhall.

After what was an unexpected defeat in the first round away to Connacht (8-5), the ladies bounced back to win back-to-back games over Ulster (46-0) and Munster (21-12) to reclaim the title after a two-year gap.

Before the game caps were presented to the 13 newly-capped players in the squad:

Hannah Tyrrell (Railway Union RFC), Joanna Mahon (Blackrock RFC), Meaghan Kenny (Navan RFC), Maria Kenny (Old Belvedere RFC), Caoimhe Molloy (Gorey RFC), Juliet Short (Railway Union RFC), Lindsay Peat (Railway Union RFC), Ali Coleman (Blackrock RFC), Eimear Corri (Blackrock RFC), Niamh Byrne (Railway Union RFC), Dawn Smith (Blackrock RFC), Niamh Griffin (Blackrock RFC), Ciara Cooney (Railway Union)
