Edenderry RFC U-12s opened their season with a spectacular day out at the RDS last Saturday.

The squad were invited to play at the half-time break in the Guinness Pro12 game between Leinster and Cardiff Blues.

With a travelling party of over 60, the bus had a full load and a few cars were needed.

The interval game was against North Meath from Kells and the lads won 2-0 with tries from James Mangan and Cathal Tyrrell.

The biggest performances on the day were from Christian Gerber and Simon Alexander but it was a great game played in the right spirit and North Meath played their part.

Best of luck to the players and coaches in North Meath with the season ahead and who knows we may see players from either Edenderry or North Meath gracing the RDS sod again but in Leinster blue in the future!

After a pit stop at Eddie Rockets they loaded the bus for home.

A great start to the season!
