The 'sold out' signs were clearly on display at De La Salle Palmerston FC's Annual Ladies Lunch at Kirwan Park, which is always a hugely popular lunch date on the club's social calendar.

As with previous years there was a great cross-section of female members in attendance to represent all the sections of the club from the Salmo Women's team, to mothers, daughters, sisters and family members of players who were all supporting their club.

Charity

Each year the lunch is run in aid of a designated charity and this year's charity was the Anam Cara charity which supports parents suffering from bereavement of a child.

Without doubt the highlight of the lunch was when all the ladies present were treated to a very entertaining Questions and Answers by club PRO Bob Hallion, with Leinster and Irish internationals Nora Stapleton and Ailis Egan, both of whom had very kindly given up their free time to attend the lunch and were guests of honour.

An event of this magnitude cannot be a successful year in year out, without the dedication of a hard working committee.

With this in mind we would like to thank Kate Burke, Sue Treacy, Edel Roe and Tara Finlay for the huge amount of hard work they put into the day for such a worthy cause.

Also to thank the main sponsors of the lunch, Super Valu Dun Laoghaire and Elma Beirne at Leinster Rugby for her continued support.
