Jeremy Davidson will join Bordeaux as forwards coach next season after agreeing a three-year deal to work under Jacques Brunel.

42-year-old Davidson - who represented Ireland 32 times - has spent the last six years at Aurillac and leaves with the club's blessing.

In a statement issued today (Translated from French), the club said: "Stade Aurillacois via its president Christian Millette formalized the departure of its head coach Jeremy Davidson.

"Indeed, the Irish technician was approached by Union Bordeaux Bègles to strengthen his staff next season.

"It was Jeremy Davidson's opportunity to progress in his coaching career, and that's why President Millette did not oppose the opportunity presented to him, aware of all that 'He has brought to the club over the last six seasons, even going so far as to touch the finger of the Top 14 last year.

"However, there are still three games to play, which the Aurillac coach wants to succeed, to end the season on a positive note, and maintain a little hope of qualification until the last game."
