Wales second row Adam Beard will play no further part in the Under-20 World Championships after being found guilty of making contact with the eye of an opponent during Wales's defeat to Ireland in Manchester on Tuesday.
During the disciplinary hearing, he denied the act of foul play and it was agreed that he did not act intentionally but it was found to be reckless and he was handed a nine week ban.
Watch the incident below:
A statement issued by World Rugby said: "The Judicial Officer determined this was low-end offending which carries an entry point of 12 weeks.
"The Judicial Officer aggravated the entry point of 12 weeks in accordance with the World Rugby Memorandum by a further week. Mitigating factors were found to be present which justified a reduction in the sanction from 13 weeks to nine weeks."
He has 48 hours to appeal the verdict.
